I love the Columbia Road Flower Market, not only for the flowers but also because it is a bustling, vibrant place with a lively atmosphere. It was first established in the mid-1800s as a way for flower sellers to sell their wares to local residents and it has a rich cultural history and has been featured in many works of literature, including Virginia Woolf’s “Jacob’s Room” and Patrick Hamilton’s “Hangover Square.”
