Last Sunday turned out to be one of those simple yet rewarding days that remind me why I enjoy living on the South Coast. With a busy afternoon planned in the studio, I decided to make the most of the morning by exploring my own neighbourhood on two wheels.

After an early start, I headed out on my motorcycle towards the beautiful New Forest National Park. The roads were quiet, the weather was kind, and the morning light filtered through the ancient woodland, creating perfect conditions for a leisurely ride. Sometimes we spend so much time looking for new destinations that we forget how much beauty exists right on our doorstep.
The New Forest never disappoints. The open heathland, wandering ponies, and peaceful countryside provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxed Sunday morning ride. I stopped a few times along the way to take in the scenery and capture a few photographs before continuing towards the coast.

My next destination was Sandbanks, one of the most picturesque stretches of coastline in Dorset. The views across Poole Harbour were stunning as always, with boats gliding across the water and people already enjoying the beach. It was the perfect place to pause for a moment and appreciate the calm atmosphere before heading into town.

From there, I made my way to Poole Quay Market. The quay was bustling with visitors, market stalls, and the familiar energy that makes it such a popular destination during the summer months. Armed with my camera, I spent some time wandering around, taking photographs and capturing little moments of life along the waterfront.

Of course, no visit to Poole Quay would be complete without lunch. I treated myself to a classic portion of fish and chips, enjoyed while watching the activity around the harbour. Sometimes the simplest meals are the most satisfying, especially when paired with fresh sea air and a beautiful view.

By early afternoon, I was back home with plenty of photographs from the morning’s adventure. The rest of the day was spent productively in the studio, working on ongoing projects and editing some of the images I had captured during the ride.
Looking back, it was a day that struck the perfect balance between relaxation and productivity. A few hours exploring familiar places, enjoying the freedom of the open road, taking photographs, and then returning home refreshed and ready to work. Sometimes that’s all you need for a great Sunday.
