Bournemouth Beach is set to host the thrilling finale of the UK Beach Volleyball Tour from September 6-8. As the tournament starts, players and spectators alike are gearing up for an exciting weekend filled with competitive matches, stunning displays of athleticism, and plenty of beachside entertainment.
The sport gained significant popularity when it was introduced to the Summer Olympics in 1996, and its appeal continues to grow worldwide.
The event kicked off on Friday with qualifying rounds, paving the way for the weekend’s high-stakes showdowns. Matches will run throughout the three days, culminating in the eagerly awaited finals on Sunday morning. The final match, featuring the top two teams battling it out on centre court, promises to be a highlight of the tour.
A spokesperson for UK Beach Tour (UKBT) shared their enthusiasm: “Sunday’s finals will be the ultimate climax of the event, with the top teams clashing on centre court. The energy and competition will be at an all-time high, making for a fantastic spectacle.”
Adding even more excitement to the weekend is the *Sixes Finals*, hosted by Deep Dish, bringing an extra layer of competition and fun to the event.
The men’s tournament is set to feature standout teams and players, including members of the Northern Ireland international team, known for their exceptional skills on the sand.
Spectators can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, with courts located directly opposite the Oceanarium, and the event will feature a live DJ and an on-site bar to keep the energy high throughout the weekend.
Matches start at 12 pm on Friday, and at 9 am on both Saturday and Sunday, giving volleyball fans plenty of opportunities to catch the action.
